Trying to do good in the COVID-19 era

Gary Gerber

As I sit here, “sheltered in place” in my home, I can’t help but think about how lucky I am. Lucky that my family is (thank G-d) healthy and safe, lucky that I live in a community that is doing its best to help me stay out of harm’s way, and lucky that I work for a company that is well positioned – and trying hard to do its part – to help others succeed in the face of enormous challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Former President Barack Obama once said, “If you go out and make some good things happen, you will fill the world with hope, you will fill yourself with hope.” I’m proud to be a part of Folloze even under normal circumstances, but particularly so right now. Because, even though it would be easy to turn inward and focus exclusively on the impacts of coronavirus to ourselves, the team is trying really hard to make good things happen for others as well, including our community, our customers, and our partners. Here’s what that looks like in the COVID-19 era:

  • For our community: For the last month, we’ve been hosting every week what we call the “Re-Route Your Marketing” workshop series on driving revenue in our new reality. Dozens of B2B marketing leaders join in to help each other answer the question, “in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic, how can B2B marketing teams close the gap and deliver on their revenue goals?” The rules are simple: Be empathetic, share ideas, help problem solve, and NO selling. You are welcome to join the conversation and I sincerely hope you do.
  • For our customers and prospects: The crisis has led to the shutdown of pretty much all face-to-face gatherings including trade events, conferences and seminars – some of the most important tools in a B2B marketer’s quiver, and we have observed that our platform is already being used by many customers to deeply personalize their interactions with their customers and prospects regardless – as we call it, “make it personal when you can’t be in person.” We want to help others do the same and are therefore offering substantial discounts, increased capabilities, and even free services in order to get it into as many hands, to do as much good, as possible. You are invited to learn more about how we might be able to help you.
  • For Marketing Agencies and Organizations:  No one can successfully go it alone, in ordinary times and especially in these extraordinary ones.  Marketing Agencies and Organizations help make our customers and our industry successful, so to give back to them during the crisis we are opening up the use of Folloze free of charge to help them weather the storm and emerge strong.  We are all in this together.

Humorist and educator Jana Stanfield said, “I cannot do all the good that the world needs. But the world needs all the good that I can do.” Please join with the Folloze team as we try to do all the good we can during these trying and unprecedented times.

Meantime stay healthy, stay safe, and I hope you’ll endeavor to remember just how lucky you are too.
